The Faculty offers various disciplines, from history, political science, and human rights to international relations, communication and media studies, psychology, social work, sociology, economics and statistics. It further encompasses literature and language sciences, in terms of linguistics, sociolinguistics, language teaching, and translation studies, focusing on various languages including English, French and Creole.

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities plays a vital role in teaching, research and collaboration with the industry and community. Our lecturers bring their expertise and insights into the lecture room, offering engaging lectures, stimulating discussions, and hands-on learning experiences that challenge and inspire our students. From introductory courses that provide a broad foundation in social sciences and humanities to specialised seminars and research projects that probe into emerging topics, our curriculum is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to our commitment to teaching excellence, the Faculty is actively engaged in research with meaningful local and global impacts. Our faculty members are important scholars in their respective fields, conducting innovative research that addresses pressing social, economic, cultural, political and environmental challenges facing the global community.

Our alumni have excelled both locally and internationally, achieving success through further studies and securing important leadership positions. They have distinguished themselves across various sectors, holding top positions in the public sector as well as in industries such as finance, global business, insurance, technology, and innovation, among many others. Whether leading multinational corporations, driving innovative start-ups, or shaping public policy, our alumni showcase the significance of our programmes at the level of the Faculty.

As you embark on this new chapter of your academic journey, you can be confident that you are gaining the knowledge and experience necessary to excel in the job market and achieve your career aspirations. We are committed to supporting your growth and ensuring that you are well-prepared to join the ranks of our successful graduates. We look forward to supporting you every step of the way.
